Folger Texts of Plays Goes Digital
Twelve of Shakespeare's most widely read and widely taught plays are now available through Folger Digital Texts, a free online resource based on the Folger Editions used in many American classrooms.
Users can read the plays online, download PDFs for offline reading, search for keywords within a single play or the whole corpus, and navigate by act, scene, and line. The following plays are currently available, and the remainder of the works and poems will be released throughout 2013:
  - Hamlet

  - Julius Caesar

  - King Lear

  - Macbeth

  - The Merchant of Venice

  - A Midsummer Night's Dream

  - Much Ado About Nothing

  - Othello

  - Romeo and Juliet

  - The Taming of the Shrew

  - The Tempest

  - Twelfth Night

The coded text is offered as a free download for noncommercial use and can be used as the groundwork for digital Shakespeare research projects, app development, and other projects.
Folger Digital Texts is a companion to the Folger Shakespeare Library print editions and e-books, published by Simon and Schuster and edited by Barbara Mowat and Paul Werstine. They include essays, glosses, notes, and illustrations from the Folger collection.
